NVIDIA`s Cloud data centers host ground-breaking products across high-performance computing to machine learning applications for autonomous vehicles and healthcare. At the heart of our data centers is the ability to engineer mechanical and electrical designs in close coupling to NVIDIA`s industry-leading GPU and DGX products. We are seeking a Data Center CFD Engineer to design and accelerate next-generation solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
Work with data center engineers to develop sophisticated technologies and products for NVIDIA`s next-generation server hardware and data center design
Crafting a 3D computational model and conducting CFD simulations under the supervision of mentors with focus on developing new cooling solutions
Preparing validation test cases and implementing experiments, working in thermal and mechanical lab environment
Test automation and data collection with the ability to remotely execute and monitor experiments.
Evaluating existing models and solutions, and working with R&D team in recommending and developing improvements
Performing research/literature review required to complete your assigned projects
Prepare and deliver technical presentations at reviews and conferences
Assist NVIDIA CFD/Thermal interns in their developments and review their simulations and experimental works.
What we need to see:
Understanding of data center IT designs covering server and network rack deployments with performance dependencies on mechanical designs
MS or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in thermal design and electronics cooling, and experience with performing thermal modeling software and interpreting modeling results
Knowledge of cooling strategies used at the package, board, server, and rack and data center room levels with successful design of advanced cooling technologies
Experience with data center cooling infrastructures, HVAC system, chiller, AHU units, CDU and Manifolds
Solid understanding of server hardware design and electronics packaging
In-depth understanding of psychometrics, heat transfer, thermal fluid, and thermal management
Minimum of 5 years of strong experience performing thermal modeling, analysis, and design
Expert capabilities with at thermal analysis software tools, 6Sigma package is helpful
Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Experimental test abilities
Having software programming capability in Python, Mathlab, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, ProE, Macroflow, Excel is prefered.
