JRC is currently seeking a Data Scientist Intern. This position will support NSWC Crane and their customers. This position reports to JRC’s Systems Engineering and Integration Division. The purpose of this position is to generate AI and machine learning tools to ingest data and provide best fit statistical analysis.

• Design neural networks and understand machine learning models
• Process machine learning data into statistical information
• Ingest data sets from disparate data systems and transform and interpret data model
• Generate and coalesce data using models
• Develop and review requirements and technical documentation and supporting material for technical accuracy
• Coordinate with other project teammate partners
• Develop models to capture system architectures, requirements, performance models, and provide traceability among products
• Review system documentation for standardization and technical accuracy
• Support the team in arranging technical reviews maintaining and authoring agenda, minutes and action items as required

Specific Skills/Qualifications:

• Must be pursuing an MS Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning or equivalent degree from an ABET accredited institution
• 2+ years working knowledge of programing languages: Python and SQL
• Working knowledge of programming language: R
• 2+ years hands-on building predictive models
• Must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance at the SECRET level
