GENERAL DESCRIPTION

As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with your Scrum Team to deliver new features and functions delivering best in class value-based technology. You are a careful and efficient problem solver with a passion for taking
deep dives into complex data sets, deriving insights, and creating visualizations. You are comfortable analyzing data, developing predictive modeling algorithms, and can communicate your findings through visualizations enabling the discovery of solutions to business problems. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Examine problems within the Data Intelligence space with ETL, Lambda, and Glue experience
Work as a member of a Scrum Team to deliver new features and functions delivering best in class value-based technology
Create data transformation processes using technologies with foundations such as ETL, SQL, Python, and R
Develops and implements databases, ETL, data collection systems, data quality, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
Develops data quality measures, analyzes data quality results, and implements necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement.
Gathers, cleans, process, compiles, and queries raw data, extract, manage, and analyze multiple, complex datasets ensuring data integrity, quality, and timeliness of results.
Identifies and adopts best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
Work as a member of a Scrum Team to deliver new features and functions delivering best in class value-based technology

Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule. Telework schedules are permitted for employees based on the agency’s approved Telework Plan (if schedule does not adversely affect operations and service levels, and standard hours of operation are maintained).
Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college/university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year for-year basis: education, formalized training, and certification.
Experience: Development with two or more of the following areas or technologies: SQL, R Development, Python Development, PyTorch Development, ETL Development, Data Cleansing,
Data Standardization, Analytics, Visualizations, Database Development, API Development, Data Streaming and/or Dashboards
Skill in strong listening and question based consultative skills.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
Skill in effective communication
Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional environment
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel, if needed
Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
Ability to lift and relocate 10 lbs.
Ability to travel up to 5%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Major coursework in data science, business analytics, computer science, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field is generally preferred
Experience: Python or R code repository share of Data Science projects
Experience: Specialized training in Data Science or related technologies a plus
Knowledge: Working knowledge of Scrum agile methodologies, lean engineering principles, and software development tools/methodologies
