Intern, NLP Data Analyst (Summer Internship)

Balyasny Asset Management is looking for an exceptional Data Analyst to work on a Natural Language Process (NLP) team on projects related to alternative data research, data gathering/processing automation, and back-tested data-driven idea generation. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge research at a leading hedge fund, offering hands-on experience at the intersection of fundamental investing and data analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Training data gathering and cleaning for large-scale NLP models
• Automate existing data gathering, analytical and modeling processes for equities
• Collaborate with Portfolio Manager and team to brainstorm creative uses for data in the investment process
• Construct or enhance data visualization tools

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRMENTS

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or any STEM related field.
• This is a Summer internship opportunity with potential to extend through the Fall.
• Summer internship would be in either New York or San Francisco BAM office.
• Strong analytical and data processing skills
• Self-starter, results-driven attitude with a great desire to learn
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, team attitude
• Ability to multi-task with outstanding attention to detail
