We are seeking a hardworking individual for a Machine Learning Internship position within the Algorithms/AI team at Auris Health. As an intern, you will work closely with other ML Engineers, Research Scientists, and Software Engineers in the Algorithms/AI team to develop novel solutions in machine learning, computer vision, and robotic navigation. This will be a great opportunity to develop your skills in solving exciting problems and contribute to technology development for next-generation robotic bronchoscopy platforms.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Development, implementation, and testing of machine learning, localization, and computer vision algorithms with multi-modal datasets for surgical skill and workflow recognition
• Design, development, and extraction of performance metrics for automated analysis of robotic bronchoscopy data
• Development of new multi-modal clinical datasets and implementation of new data processing architectures
• Experiment design, testing, and analysis of machine learning algorithm performance and comparison between different algorithms
• Integration of new algorithms into existing and future data and machine learning pipelines
• Work closely with other research scientists, ML engineers and SW engineers to transfer solutions into Auris products and applications

• PhD candidate or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience and understanding of state-of-the-art localization, robotic and computer vision algorithms, and statistical models for data analysis
• Hands-on experience with machine learning/deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow)
• Experience in processing of robotic data and endoscopic and/or laparoscopic image datasets desirable
• Proficiency in Python, C++
• Familiarity with cross-platform software development and version control systems (Git, etc.)
