The EPSDT Data Analyst is responsible for the analisys of utilization data according to the periodicity schedule and rate of EPSDT screens. The Analyst will design and develop reports using health care administrative data in order to monitor performance and quality control plans within provider group and individual physicians of the EPSDT requirements. Based on this, maintains and prepares all necessary reports, documents and analyses to support management business decisions.


Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports Develop methods for consistency and validity checking to assure accurate and meaningful results; Maintains data management process documentation as part of routine QA. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data and bring appropriate functional area attention Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs Locate and define new process improvement opportunities Coordinate compilation and distribution of all reports, ensure the data is valid and reliable, collected and delivered in an effective/timely manner Offer interpretation of analytical findings or recommend solutions relative to the strategic objectives of the department. Use data manipulation and analytics tools to execute analyzes on large data stores. Incorporates metrics and benchmarks (both internal and external) to proactively identify and evaluate indicators of medical management/health services processes resulting cost, quality and utilization trends. Analyze healthcare quality and utilization data to identify best practices, care delivery trends and clinical practice variation within, provider group and individual physicians. Work with internal and external customers in determining appropriate analysis plans, statistical methods and data extraction code specifications. Translates complicated and technical analyses into concise and easily understood recommendations, for both internal and external audiences. Prepare quality ad hoc and routine reports within established timelines Provide results in an accurate and timely manner to both internal and external customers. Display strong analytical and problem solving expertise, exhibit proficiency in data extraction from a variety of sources, data manipulation and analysis, and interpret and present results appropriate to the intended use and audience, including spreadsheets, written reports, oral presentations, and deck presentations Other responsibilities as required.


  • Bachelor`s degree (BA) in biostatistics, statistics, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related field highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience; including knowledge of research methods, advanced statistics knowledge, business intelligence applications, and data analysis. Clinical/Healthcare experience, preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with SQL, SAS and/or similar analytical applications preferred.


  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


  • Bilingual (English – Spanish)
  • Time management skills; establishing priorities and accomplishing tasks in an accurate and timely basis.
  • Strong healthcare knowledge.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis, interpretation & reporting using large-scale healthcare data sets
  • Experience in statistical modeling
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Self-directed, ability to anticipate and initiate tasks as necessary
  • Knowledge of claims based healthcare data and the health insurance industry preferred


While working the employee is walking, standing, talking and listening most of the time. The job also requires being able to reach objects with arms and hands.


The responsibilities of this position requires continuous interaction with internal and external clients in order to solve problems and offer feedback.
