The Data Visualization team works within Data Engineering to build and maintain web platforms, visual reporting applications and APIs for the newsroom, data analysts, and product managers. We support other engineering teams that leverage our platform infrastructure and APIs to deploy their own applications. We`re a front-end-leaning full-stack team.
Experience building modern web applications in React.
Understanding of relational databases and standard SQL. Columnar database experience is a plus.
Experience building visual reporting and analytical tools is a plus, as are TypeScript and GraphQL experience.
Our back-end APIs are written in Go, and we support legacy systems that use Python. While knowledge of one or both of those languages is preferred, we`re open to candidates with front-end skills who are eager to learn about building API services in Go.
We deploy our applications on Google Cloud Platform. Comfort working in that environment and experience with products such as App Engine and BigQuery are also desirable.
This role may require limited on - call hours. An on - call schedule will be determined when you join, taking into account team size and other variables.
