Are you looking for a position where your work shapes the policy which protects the Unemployment Insurance landscape in Montana? If so, then you may be interested to know the Montana Department of Labor & Industry is currently recruiting for a research and data analyst within the Fraud Unit of the Unemployment Insurance Division.

This position will conduct research, analysis, and interpretation of fraud claims and prevention. The analyst will work with the Fraud Team to develop and implement a fluid and responsive program to first prevent fraud and then to expose any potential existing fraud. The position will serve as a technical expert on unemployment fraud statistics and tactics used by fraudsters. The data analyst will utilize knowledge of statistics and data analytics to inform policy and management decisions. The incumbent will work with managers in other areas of the department to develop consistent data-gathering and reporting systems, as well as processes to disseminate analytics and visualizations. The incumbent will need to communicate data and technical information to a non-technical audience while maintaining data confidentiality and security. The incumbent will also need to think creatively about how to successfully manage data collection and use analysis and written reports to present findings. The position works with other members of the team to make proactive program changes to prevent fraud.
